If you learn to love your mind and get the right mindset then you can re-energise your mind and unlock your potential. Whether it is for Business or Personal, Mindfulness can help.
I am trained in several mindfulness techniques and will tailor-make a session specific to your needs.
A mindfulness practice has a powerfully therapeutic element: it is recognised by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence as a beneficial intervention for depression and chronic pain.
Having negative and fearful thoughts is a habit and like other habits it takes a while to break the pattern of behaviour. Daily practice of mindfulness techniques helps is to stay present and see our thoughts for what they really are.
Focussed Mindfulness
This is a powerful therapy that helps to place negative and fearful thoughts into a healthier context and allowing us to see firstly that the thoughts are not necessarily true and secondly that we do not have to be ruled by them. Pain Release is a great tool to understand your pain whether emotional or physical.
Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)
This therapy uses traditional cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) methods and has added strategies such as mindfulness and mindfulness meditation. The goal of MBCT is to interrupt these automatic processes teaching participants to focus less on reacting to incoming thoughts and emotions, and instead accepting and observing them without any judgment.
Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)
This is an 8 week group programme that helps focus individuals to improve their mindful awareness. It entails weekly 2 hour classes, a one-day retreat, formal home practice (a minimum of 45 minutes daily meditation, six days a week) and instruction in three formal techniques: mindfulness meditation, body scanning and simple yoga postures. The programme is open to anyone.
Mindfulness for Children
This therapy can provide them with the coping techniques for life challenges such as divorce, bullying, exam results, etc. It is important to give them the tools to help improve their self-esteem and allow them to be heard. Becoming more mindful helps children/adults improve how they regulate circumstances in their life that affect mental and physical wellbeing and happiness. This is where I can help either on a one to one basis or in a group environment.
An ICM Survey of GP’s in the UK made the following findings:
-
-
- 72% of GPs think it would be helpful for their patients with mental health problems to learn Mindfulness meditation skills
- 66% of GPs say they would support a public information campaign to promote the potential health benefits of Mindfulness meditation
- 64% of GPs think it would be helpful to receive training in Mindfulness skills themselves.
